believe sincerely that we can do better, welcome home. With
an abundance of political organizations on a local and national
level, we pride ourselves on being a results driven, community
based force of positive change. We are committed to use political
and economic resources to remove obstacles that put the American
dream just out of reach for so many of us. If you believe
that you have achieved the American dream, join us and become
a beacon to guide others. Located in Houston, Texas we believe
that community building starts at home. During the State
of the Black Union (2005) a few black leaders complained
about our community being taken advantage of by one party
and totally ignored by the other. Blackdems believes that
if you want a seat at the table, then grab a chair and get
to work.
As a community we are free to choose our destiny. Do we choose
to move forward or choose to fall victim to the vices that
lie within our communities? At Blackdems.com we choose
to use our freedom to Inform, Empower, and Energize. Reversing
our current course will not be an easy task. Success demands
an organized effort from local black businesses, churches,
schools, elected officials, families and you. Black leaders
from our past have broken down many barriers. Because of
their success, it is now our task to build bridges. Let
us unite with communities across the nation that chose
empowerment over apathy. Progress is an uphill effort;
ceasing forward motion will inevitably cause us to slide
behind. Our politics are quite simple. We champion middle
and working class American issues.
Here are a few core principles that we believe in:
• Increase Minority Home ownership
• Increase Minority Business ownership and patronage
• Quality Healthcare coverage for American families
• Quality Education for all Americans
• Pride for community and country
If you are new to politics understand that our only requirement
is that we stand firmly behind efforts that empower middle
and working class communities to move forward. Elected officials
will be judged by results and passion to create positive
change. Any elected official that desires our endorsement
must demonstrate that he/she will be champion middle and
working class values. No matter what your race or ethnicity,
if you believe in empowering local communities we would love
for you to partner with us. With your help, we can pull the
American dream back within reach for all who seek it.
