Saving our Schools 
Join us as we develop a plan of action to increase academic performance in:
      • Kashmere High School (In Trinity Gardens)
      • Sam Houston High School (Northside/Northline)
      • And Mc Reynolds Middle School (Denver Harbor/Port Houston)

Discussion topics will range from educational funding to new tutoring and mentorship programs for local middle and high schools.

If you are tired of sitting on the sidelines and want to get involved, grab a seat at the table this Sunday and join us as we get work helping those in need.

AUGUST MEETING RECAP
Our last meeting Chairman Robertson presented the State of African Americans from a local perspective. Topics presented included a recap of the State of Black America report (2005 Urban League Report), policy analysis starting from the Regan administration to the Clinton Administration, and some ended with local politics in the Houston area.

FISH GRITS AND POLITIKS WITH B L A C K D E M S

Members Marc Bygrave and Altrivice Revis both appeared on Councilwomen Ada Edwards "Fish Grits and Politiks" this past Saturday!  The program broadcasts from the breakfast klub on Saturdays from 7am to 10 am

Marc Bygrave discussed his role as board member with Sunny side Pride, and their goals and objectives for the year.
Altrivice Revis spoke on the need for a full ban on smoking in Houston public buildings, and her role in the ongoing smoking ordinance campaign.
