INSTRUCTIONS FOR ESTABLISHING A CHARTER CHAPTER
 
STEP I

Complete the Charter Chapter Application in full. The name of the chapter should be descriptive of your location, and should be proceeded by B L A C K D E M S,
(i.e. B L A C K D E M S-Chicago, B L A C K D E M S-University of Houston).

 
STEP II

Attach the following documents:

a. Charter Application

b. Membership Roster

A full roster of chapter founding members including name, address, phone, fax, and email must be submitted. Newly formed chapters must have at least 5 members. Please indicate if members are transferring from an established        B L A C K D E M S chapter.

c. Officer Biographies

A bio form completed by the Director and other interim chapter officers. Please provide as much information as possible.

d. Minutes

If a chapter organization meeting has already been held, please include a copy of the minutes from that meeting.

 
STEP III

Submit one-time chapter initiation fees.

At-large (city, county, or neighborhood chapters) $100

University/College $ 50

High School/Middle School $ 25

 
When completed, submit documentation to the Expansion Director.
 
After review by the Expansion Director and the presiding Chairman the materials will be presented to the general body for acceptance.
 
Charters receiving 2/3 vote of approval will be considered an official B L A C K D E M S Chapter.
